Circular Letter No. 1
Office of the Directress
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and spirits. Am sure many of you have had a wonderful summer of relaxation, fun, and adventures with your family and friends. We look forward to welcoming your children back to our school and to another year of learning and growth. Schedule of the opening of classes has been posted at our FB page.
Thank you so much for entrusting the education and formation of your children at St. Scholastica’s Academy, San Fernando, City of Pampanga.
Our theme for the school year 2023-2024 is Benedictine Education in the Spirit of Communion, Participation and Mission, Focus: Christ -centeredness and Obedience – “Listen and Live in God’s Love.”
Christ-centeredness is a core value of a Benedictine education, which means that Christ is the center of our lives and our school. This value is based on the teaching of St. Benedict, who believed that Christ should be at the center of everything we do. In a Christ-centered school, the teachings and values of Christ are integrated into all aspects of the curriculum and school life. This means that students are taught to view the world through a Christian lens, to develop a personal relationship with God, and to live their lives in accordance with the Gospel values.
Obedience is another core value of a Benedictine education. This value is based on the belief that obedience is essential for the development of self-discipline and respect for others. In our school, obedience means being open and responsive to the will of God, to authority, and to the rules and regulations that govern the school community. This kind of obedience is not blind or passive, but rather an active and intentional response to the call of God and the needs of others. By practicing obedience, students learn to develop self-discipline, respect for authority, and a sense of responsibility to care for and serve others. In the spirit of “Synodality” there will be a Parents’ Orientation on the following dates:
Saturday, August 12, 2023 – Grades 7 & 8

Time: 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Please reserve these dates and we hope to see you.
St. Scholastica’s Academy, City of San Fernando will be celebrating one hundred (100) years of its foundation in the school year 2024-2025. This school year 2023-2024 is a preparation period for this grand occasion. You are the “chosen people” to witness and be part of this once-in-a-lifetime grand festivity of our school. Let us earnestly thank our most loving God who sustained SSA-SF through the years. Let us thank the first Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing, Germany who were assigned in San Fernando for their self–donation. We are what we are primarily because of their generosity and love for the Filipinos. Now, we are standing on the shoulders of our foremothers and reaping the fruits of their hard work and mission of sharing their material resources to a third world country like the Philippines. It’s our turn to pay back to God and to our German sisters and all those who labored in this vineyard of the Lord by living out the faith they shared with us through loving service to our neighbors especially towards our poor brothers and sisters. And to push you into a greater challenge, like St. Benedict, may you be the prime mover in the change that we all want to happen in our country. We need to fast and pray, transform our vices into virtues, walk the talk and be prophets of truth and hope. Together, let us begin to dream now – dream big for our future, for our school and for our country and may all the forces of the universe converge to make our dream come true.
Thank you and God bless….
Yours in Christ,
Sister Mary Ignatius Aquino, OSB
