Gospel: Luke 21: 1 – 4
When Jesus looked up he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins.
He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.”
Reflection:
Give it All!
The measure of offering is not the amount of monetary value but the amount of love that we give for others. There is no small amount for a person who gives his or her life for the sake of others. There is no small amount to a person who receives a gift out of love. Those who give their lives and love for God are blessed. God makes them pure and perfect. “No lie was found in their mouths and no fault can be found in them” (Rev 14:1-5). Hence, the more we give love the more we can attain perfection. Perfection in love and offering is more valuable in eyes of God than any other offering given out of extras. So, we must all give it all for us to enter the kingdom of God.
